Hello all.

My box is 7020 hd.
I have read that the swap file should NOT live on the hard drive, as
this could cause problems.

The 'HOW TO 'on swap, does not seem to apply to my box.
The ' blue panel ', does not have an option for swap.

The swap file has been automatically put onto my HDD.
and I can imagine the constant communicating could cause trouble.

Could someone please assist me in how to put the swap , elsewhere.

Yes, that works fine.

So what is the purpose of the service usb ?

Anyway, it doesn't matter as all comms now works fine using LAN.

I thought that I might have to throw the box away, since the mini usb broke.

Yes I can leave it on lan, but I have always done comms with the box using the service usb.

I have now successfully flashed the box thanks to you guys, without service usb.

I will now try to ftp using the lan.

I have another question about the dreambox control centre.

Can this be used for telnet using the Ethernet.

I have tried with a direct crossover cable, but have had no success.

As I am down south in Australia, I need to put in a different satellite.xml
file.

I have done this before with the service usb, but that usb is no longer available.

I will get onto it.

When I saw this magnified image of the problem, I thought exactly the same thing.
But I will have to get some magnification happening, shave a lot off my soldering irom tip, and get some fine solder.

Should work, but it would be great if there was another way to flash box.

I bought the box in 2012.

Can the box be flashed by using hard drive or usb ?
I have sent to DMM and have had no reply.

Maybe I have to go to the place where I purchased it from.

Hi ..I have a big problem.

I did a software upgrade and restarted the box when asked.

The box locked up, so I prepared to do a flash of the box.

After many tries, it would not talk to the dreamup software.
I have successfully flashed the box before.

A few months later , I tried again.
and when I connected to the mini usb, I noticed it was in at an angle.

Took the lid off the box, and the mini usb was twisted.
It was not soldered on three of its feet, and had pivoted on its remaining foot.

Thus it is broken.
Has anyone heard of this problem before .

This is what I mean.

when I do an automatic scan, it says no services to scan.

The only I can get the services, is to blindscan the satellite.

Blindscan finds the services, and then resolves the t/p's.

So I am wondering if the services have to be put in bouquets
or somewhere.

When I flashed this image, I did not install the default satellite file.

Maybe this is where I have gone wrong.

I am wondering if the satellite.xls file has to live anywhere else
than the tuxbox dir.
I am having to do a blindscan in order to get services, which are then scanned
and resolved.

Hi all
I was trying a different skin, and now the box half boots up and then loops back and half boots again.
I seem to have dcc2 control, but cannot get dreamup to talk to my laptop.
Can i flash from dcc2. or usb or the hard drive I have installed and initiated.
I have successfully flashed the box before, using dreamup.
The image I put on was the 4.0.0 dreambox officicial.

Any help would be much appreciated
