Hallo @ all!
Hab vorhin diese Email von Radix gekriegt.Hat sie noch jemand gekriegt?Versteh nicht ganz was er meint
Email:
The first DM500HD USB PCB had a problem when power cycled quickly to reboot (power off and then quickly power on again). After this operation, the PCB could block the power to USB devices.
Another problem was that after the PCB had blocked the USB power it could need quite some time without power to reset itself. This was because the PCB itself drew extremely little power and the microcontroller could run on quite a low voltage, so it took time before the microcontroller actually was reset.
These issues has been resolved in a new software for the microcontroller. I have also changed the behaviour of the microcontroller a little, so when it detects an over current situation it cuts off power directly, but after 10 seconds it tries to enable power again. If it is then indicating a fault directly, it will wait 4 minutes before trying to enable power again. Eventually, it will permanently disable power after some failed tries to enable power.
Note that the first DM500HD PCB has no problem (as far as I know or reported) when it is running. It is just an issue when you reboot the Dreambox by powering it off and you could probably work around it by letting it be in power off state for around 5 seconds before turning on power again.
However, if you want to upgrade to the new software, please send your PCB to the address below and include a small note with your return address and write that you want a software update of it.
