Hdd USB - dreambox 800 HD PVR

Wir haben aktuell ein Problem mit dem Board und arbeiten an der Lösung...

    Hello guys,


    First of all, I am sorry not to speak german, I am from Belgium.


    I have bought a dreambox 800hd pvr, and I am trying to connect an extrernal hard disk that I want to connect trough USB port. When i swith it, the lights turns on, but It seems not to be recognized by the drambox.


    I am using gp project enigma2.

    did you buy an 800se as your profile says or an old 800 ?


    Does your USB Harddisk have an extra Power supply, or can your try an active USB Hub in between ?


    Probably your hardddisk is simply running out of power - and don't tell us that it works on a PC - The Dreambox is NOT a PC and doesn't have a PC Power supply.

    I think it is a new dreambox model, how can I be sure?


    With my HDD, I have 2 usb switches, I have tryeid to switch both on dreambox, but nothing runs.

    You are good, I have switched the second usb on my pc, now Dreambbox recognizez it.
    How can I do to avoid to swith it to pc?
    What shoud I do now to make it runs?

    Your USB Harddisk needs to much power, better use a SATA one internally or an active Hub which has an extra Power supply to fullfill these extra needs.


    USB on Dreamboxes is mainly for sticks,smargos,... not for Harddisks.

    I have succedded in switching my HDD using both USB ports of dreambox.
    A message appears informating me that hdd is recognized. HDD also appears in menu-->parameter


    I have tryed thus to unmount, initialize and mount it, but when I try a direct to record, a message appears"hdd not recognized or not initialized".


    What should I do?

    did you use the devicemanager to achieve that?
    or did you use telnet commands?

    You still have a too weak power supply, this means it will not work stable.
