is it possible to have a monobloc setup with a dreambox 500S? i have been trying for a while now but i cant seem to get it working

Please tell us more, which stellites, how did you have connected it, wich setings have you tried in your box.

i am trying to get astra 19.2 and hotbird. i can seem to get either one or the other, but not both.

please tell us which lnb you`ve get in your feedholder, left or right behind of the dish, because if you tell that you only get one satellite I believe your settings with a&b are not correct. In Germany Monoblocs Hotbird is a and Astra b.

looking at the dish from the front i have the right lnb in the holder and the left when is rotated to a position slightly above the horizontal to the one in the the holder

I have a monobloc mounted in the same way.
If you look into the dish (from the feed) the right LNB is fixed (e.i. in the middle of the dish) and the second LNB ist left.
Then left is Astra and right is HotbirdDMM500
