DVB-C FBC tuner problem (BCM3158)

    Hope it's ok that i write in english :)


    My brand new DM900 RC20 with the DVB-C FBC-Tuner BCM3158 is pixilating a lot on every channel in the bandwith.

    It's strange, because my old Dreamboxes is not - and has never - pixilated. I'm very confident that my signal is very good. I use the best cables and everything is correct made in my setup. I'm sure about that.


    My old Dreamboxes with the tuners:


    DM500HDv2 - tuner: CXD1981 - all ok

    DM800se - tuner: Philips CU1216Mk3 - all ok

    Sundtek USB DVB-C/DVB-T tuner - all ok


    I'm kind of frustrated about the situation. Is there something i'm missing with FBC-Tuners? Or am I just unlucky with this tuner?


    The DM900 RC20 has the dreambox-image-deb-dm900-20211029.tar.xz image installed.


    Right now i'm leaning towards returning it. But I don't want to.

    Maybe your signal is to strong. That can cause trouble and errors on FBC tunern.


    Try an "Dämpfungsregler". Translator says "damping controller" or "attenuation controller".

    I hadn't thought of that Tr8or - you were right!

    I had to weaken the signal with 16db (!!) - now all is ok.
