Picons reference name or channel name

  • Good afternoon and Happy New Year 2021 to all.

For about 7 months I have been using the Gemini Gp4 image initially, then Gp4.1 and I find it to be a well structured and very technical image. I have a question about using Picons. With the image I was using previously, the Dream Elite 6.0, I had the option of using picons with the channel name, instead of the reference name. I find that this was very convenient, as with the reference name it happens very often that picons disappear with the updating of the channel lists, only because their name (reference name) has changed. In addition, there are many channels that are present on multiple frequencies, satellite and / or terrestrial, so the relative picons are also of equal number. This was overcome by using the channel name in place of the reference name. I ask to know if this option is also present in the Gemini image, if so how to find it and, if not, if it is possible to foresee a future implementation in this sense. Thank you very much.

  • I thank you for the answer.

I put the Gp4 plugin on the original DMM OE 2.5 image. From what you say, I understand that Gp4 can also be put on other images. This is new to me. I made my request because my previous image, the D.E., as I have already indicated before. it is based on the same OS DMM OE 2.5. I didn't even know if the management of the SRP - Service Reference Picons or SNP - Service Named Picons (I read in the post you indicated) depended on the image or was editable by the skin. Of course, if the mode were selectable by the user, the latter would decide which would be more useful for their needs.

  • Hi

    @Jogie29

z.B. 28,2 nutzen, wo sich andauernt was ändert.

  • Goodmorning everyone.

I tried to put a folder with picons inside with channel name, but nothing is displayed. So unless I do something wrong, it doesn't work. If I have reported and requested an implementation, where possible, it is only because in three weeks, every time I updated the list, I had missing picons that I had to rename. Not knowing how the alternative picon display capability was implemented, I imagined that this could be done with a setting in the Gp4 plugin, which actually implements unforeseen possibilities on the original image, or in the skin.

So if this is made possible it will certainly be a good thing.
