[Boblight SupportThread] Update: 11-02-2014, Boblight 0.8R6

  • Hi,

How can I get smooth color shifting? My Adalight is way to hectic.

Hi, in the plugin with the speed/Smoothness value.

    Hi,
You need to restart the daemon, the nice way is to restart your box. but the fastest way is to kill boblightd.
You can set this is the GUI to shutdown the daemon if the lights go off. But there is a bug. sometimes he will not kill the daemon. (Already Fixed in new release 0.7R1 Alpha (Juli 2013))

Or other way to kill your daemon is with a telnet session.
Login with telnet into your box.

    Then type

    Code
    ps | grep boblight

    You get this:

    Code
    3708 root 13700 S N /usr/bin/boblightd -f

The first numbers are the pid number use this in the next command.

    kill -9 3708.
Now restart the plugin in the GUI.

    Kind regards Speedy.

  • Thanks for your help! Boblight is really great! Thanks!

  • also ich habe folgendes problem:

    local daemon active
    ich verzweifel langsam...

    telnet sagt beim versuch von

    /etc/init.d/boblight-control star

    starting boblight-enigma2...
root@dm7020:~# ERROR: Wrong Value 0 for Timeshift
    Usage: boblight-enigma2 [OPTION]

  • Is the current version able to connect to a boblight daemon in the network as (probably) intended by the network options?

Daemon is running on a Raspberry however seems that the Dreambox is not trying to connect to the daemon.

Have also the XBMC plugin running which tries to connect asap when started

All machines are running variances of linux. (XBMC-Ubuntu, Raspberry-Raspian with GUI removed, Dreambox-OE2.0)

    ----

I will answer my own question: had a couple of the boblight control processes running in the background after restarting through the on screen interface.

After killing those and starting from telnet gave a direct connection to my raspberry daemon.

  • Hi,

I have a new beta 0.7r1, This version must be tested on some boxes.
    Who can help me ?

    - I need a beta-tester with a Dreambox 800.

Who can and have time to help.

    Send me a pm.

Also i have released a new boblight daemon and library for the raspberry devices.
This version is Optimized, much faster and have better cpu usage.
See howto for compiling : https://github.com/Speedy1985/…berry/wiki/How-to-compile

    Thanks!

See picture for raspberry cpu usage.

  • Hallo Zusammen,

Mein Sedu beginnt unten links.

Es fehlen also 2.

:grinning_squinting_face:

  • thank you @ speedyisfast and Krautmaster
    it works great !

do someone know if there is any "windows 7 boblight client" for the new boblight version. To get Windows-Screen Informations and send them to dreambox boblight server instead of using the "XMBC-Boblight-Plugin"

    Setup 800Se OE 1.6 - > Boblight 0.6R15-> Arduino uno Rev 3 -> 50 LED's

  • Hallo,

    Hier meine Boblight.conf

    Danke!

    Keine ahnung warum.

Would BobLight also work with that?

I also asked the Devs of that project, if they support any Light-Plugin (Atmo, Bob, etc), but i am still waiting for an answer..

I got the answer you are looking for:

As for Boblight support - we are in contact with BobLight and hope that they'll support our device soon. But we already have XBMC integration and you can check it at our product web page code.google.com/p/light-pack.

As for XBMC full screen issues - stay tuned, we plan to improve this.

Arduino UNO, 50 WS2801 LEDs, Boblight (always the latest version)
