[bye bye] GP3 Weather Plugin

    Dream 8k => Marantz BD7004 => Panasonic TX-L47DTW60 => YAMAHA Soundbar YAS - 101 / Partnerbox: Dream 800HDse => Panasonic TX-L26X20E / FRITZ!Box 3370 => QNAP TS-119II_2TB

    We are retiring the weather.com XML Data Feed along with its supporting infrastructure. The e-mail address on file in our registration system for the weather.com XML Data Feed that is associated with your partner key (d.dimitriev@gmx.net) was sent an e-mail notice of this scheduled termination on October 13th, 2011.

    The Weather Channel is continuing to offer an array of free offerings, just not the weather.com XML Data Feed. You can view these free offerings at http://www.weather.com/services/weather-gadgets/. I have also attached some screenshots of what can be created with one of our free offerings, Weather on Your Website (WOWs).

    If you still need access to an XML data feed you may subscribe to The Weather Channel API. The Weather Channel API is a completely new offering written from the ground up to be a commercial SaaS offering hosted in an elastic cloud. The call structure is completely different as is the way it is managed. It is a metered and throttled feed but it offers more features and flexibility. Unfortunately this means that you will need to modify your code to utilize this feed should you choose to use this as a replacement for the weather.com XML Data Feed.

    To understand what will be required to implement The Weather Channel API, please download the implementation guide from http://portal.theweatherchannel.com/support.aspx.

    The Weather Channel offers entry-level subscriptions starting as low as $19.98 per month for single city subscribers interested in current conditions and a 3-day data forecast with 3,000 aggregate monthly data requests (this is the amount needed for a single city to keep the weather information updated 24/7 following our caching rules), $67.98 for multi-city subscribers interested in current conditions and a 3-day data forecast with 25,000 monthly data requests, and $99.98 for multi-city subscribers interested in current conditions and a 5-day data forecast with 75,000 data requests. You can review these bundles by visiting http://portal.theweatherchannel.com/index.aspx and then selecting the option, “How much does it cost?”. You can also customize a subscription using our “Pricing Wizard” available at http://portal.theweatherchannel.com/pricing1.aspx.

    I hope you find this information helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions that I can answer for you.
