usbTuner (multiple tuners on dm800) v0.7.3 ipk package (all new images) + GUI plugin

Wir haben aktuell ein Problem mit dem Board und arbeiten an der Lösung...
  • This device is based on IT9135 chipset. There is no driver for DM boxes only for ET with the newest kernel.

  • You have to contact SIFTeam drivers developers, maybe they can help you because others "image teams" (DM incl.) developers don't want to create newer or to patch existed usb tuner drivers.

  • That happen exactly same to me.
SIANO SMS1140 has probably different driver than SIANO from USBtuner downloads ...

    And I'm looking - like the other users - for driver ITE9135 and SIANO SMS1140 ...

    Do you mean DVB-T2 ?

  • Yes, I'm interested also in DVB-T2 usb tuner or combo DVB-S2/S/T2/T tuner for DM800HD se.
    Is there any possibility?
How come lower specs receiver support these combo tuners and a 500€ devise doesn't? Is this deliberate from DMM or what?

DVB-S2 + DVB-S-Tuners are built-in-one chips... DMM already uses such chips (and is using them for a long time since the DM800 has been introduced).

DVB-T-Tuners (NOT -T2) are also already supported - even together with DVB-C als combo tuners.

But there are no devices yet that have combo DVB-S(2) and DVB-C/T(2) tuners. All devices supporting both DVB-S(2) and DVB-C/T(2) are using two different tuners and select the "right" while tuning a channel. Compare it to a DM8000 with the two built-in DVB-S(2) tuners and two hybrid DVB-C/T-tuners mounted in slots C and D...

As far as DVB-T2 isn't used in Germany yet (and there is no plan to do so for at least the next 4 years) the support by DMM for DVB-T2 chips is very low.
Next thing is that you need drivers for these particular chips - and as far as I know most devices don't support Linux or their manufacturers at least are not willing to present any open source code for their particular chips. And as long as there is no such documentation for these chips, there won't be any support...

  • Thank you for your explanation.
There is an USB DVB-T2 tuner:
PCTV Systems NanoStick T2 DVB-T2 USB Tuner

which has support for Linux, but starting from kernel 3.x.
Maybe kernel 3.x is not planned to be used in Germany, also

  • I'm glad that you guys don't hesitate submitting the feedback of working tuners. The list is getting longer :)

    Great!

  • or is there any chance and if someone could add drivers patch
    for SNR scales

    1 af9015: fix SNR report in Enigma2/Kaffeine;
    2 SNR is now scaled in the full 0-65536 range;
3 the snrdb module parameter of the af9013 demodulator
4 enables the SNR output in dBx10 as before.

  • Hi :)

I have been looking forward to be buying a usb tuner for my dreambox.
I want sundtek mediatv tuner which have dvb-c tuner :)

in the meantime i have now discovered that Hauppauge have made support for linux drivers. The reports is also that the WinTV-HVR-930C also do work with kafferin under linux for dvb-c channels.

    http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/faq/support_faq_linux.html

I have the WinTV-HVR-930C and would like to ask if it then is possible to use it with a dreambox too and if possible then how?

  • Hi Guys,

I know it´s not 100% the topic, but I use vTuner as a remote network tuner.
With OE2.0 my vtuner client doesn´t work anymore.
    http://code.google.com/p/vtuner/
I´ve already asked the people, but they don´t seem to have any clue about dreamboxes.

    Can anybody help?

  • does anybody can help with new OE2.0 and usbtuner
