[gelost - solved] [English] NFS file error > 2GB

  • Hello,

Since a little while I am having problems with files > 2GB.
I use a DM800 and DM7025 with gemini 4.1 and I record to a Ubuntu Server (8.04) box via NFS.
In the past there was a switch in gemini to set the record file size to 1, 2 or 8GB.

Either the switch is gone, or I cannot find it.

Funny thing is, I still have recordings on the Ubuntu box that are way bigger than 2GB. I am unsure as to when the problem started. Just noticed today that newer recordings are clipped at 2GB.

Is there a setting in Ubuntu Server NFS or the dreambox to enable files bigger than 2GB?

Assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

  • This switch you only can find on E1 Boxen (DM7000 etc).

When your Files are splittet on your server, then you have changed the configuration
    on the server.

  • I am using kernel-server and have no clue what to look for.

Do I have to force my server to accept only V3 connections?

  • After deleting the entry in auto.hotplug and NOT setting the nfsvers=3 argument it now works?!

It used to be you had to set nfsvers=3 to get it working. At least on my box.
    Anyway solved.
