Hi,

Aladin

hier die beschreibung von tmbinc:

quote:

So I want to explain the current UI, maybe you can comment on this.

--------------
Go to the movie list, press menu, select "cutlist editor..."

The cutlist editor will start. Press "ok" to dismiss the initial explanation.

Let's take a usual task of having a recorded movie, and removing everything which is not belonging to the movie.

A "cut" defines a region which is an *un*wanted part. Thus, you "cut away" (commercials, ...). By default, everything is shown. You need to explicitly remove parts you don't want.

First, press green to pause. Cutting works best when in 'paused' mode, i will later fix the UI to automatically pause at the begin. (There is currently a bug preventing from this.) If you want to play, you can press "green" again, and red/blue like you're used. In pause mode, you can skip back one GOP by pressing 'red' (rewind), or activate slow-motion with ressing 'blue' (fast-forward). With green, you come back to pause mode. This sometimes helps to define cutpoints even closer (see the remark about cutpoint accuracy below, though). Currently, there is no way to skip framewise. I might introduce a "frame forward", but "backward" is quite complicated (but maybe possible). Anyway, due to the accuracy, this shouldn't matter too much.

Then, use the '<'/'>', '7'/'9, '4'/'6', '1'/'3', 'left'/'right' (they all skip forward/backwards with different distances) keys to navigate to the point where the movie starts. Press "OK", select "cut before this position". You see, in the timeline on the bottom, that the beginning is missing now.

Now, navigate to the beginning of the first commercial, press "ok", select "start cut here". Navigate to the end, press ok, select "end cut here". (If you want to re-do a cut, navigate into the cut-out area, press "ok", select "delete cut". Then do the cut again. There is no way to move a cut point.)

Again, you see that a part in the timeline is missing now.

Finally, navigate to the end of the movie, press ok, select "delete after this point".

To insert chaptermarks, navigate to the position, press ok, "insert mark".

With up/down, you can select a specific point, and skip to that position.

To save your changes (there is no way to revert them), press "exit".

Accuracy: Currently, we have GOP, or even sub-GOP accuracy. I'd estimate the accuracy to be about 1 second. I might add some sub-GOP accuracy tricks at some point in the future, but currently, this is not possible.
--------------

So, maybe you can all try out the plugin, and describe what you liked and disliked, and what you like to have changed.

Felix
